So these were supposed to holiday present ideas. Clearly I'm behind on that train and it's a touch late to be ordering Christmas presents online. Valentine's day perhaps? Or maybe you can just store these lovely little shops away in the back of your head for next year!
I've been super busy lately...mainly with City Kid related stuff. And because I recently got into Seattle's EtsyRain Handmade Holiday Show! I'm really excited but also really busy getting ready for it. For all of you Seattleites out there it is on Friday, November 29th and Saturday, November 30th at Pier 66 on the waterfront...so the weekend of Thanksgiving...aka "Black Friday" and "Small Business Saturday." I think there will be some really great vendors there...the following are just a few:
And yours truly of course!! I had a quick minute yesterday before I had to pick Parker up so I scanned the vendor list yesterday and just quickly clicked on a few including the above ones. But there will be tons and tons more! So if you like to holiday shop and want some cool, hip, handmade stuff then come down to Pier 66 Thanksgiving weekend!

And if you do see something you like....snag it...because chances are it's either a one of a kind or limited quantity!
How cute is that bunny?! I love it! Here's how she came to be:
Ever since we got the book Kiki and Coco in Paris, Parker has been wanting a doll like Coco..."with long legs that I can dangle on the floor." I must say that those Jess Brown dolls are quite darling, but they are also just a tad out of my price range. So I did a little research and for Christmas I gave Parker this Paris bunny sewing pattern for the two of us to make together. I think it is absolutely adorable and to Parker's delight...it has the long legs perfect for dangling.
It was also a really fun project for the two of us. I would say it took a total of about two hours over two afternoons. I actually let her use my machine which I've never done before. But my new (kind of new now) machine has a speed control on it so it makes it really easy for her to use. Of course she insisted on the very slowest setting so the sewing probably took a lot longer than it needed to. She also did all of the stuffing as well...and let me tell you...stuffing those skinny arms and legs was quite the chore! But I think she really enjoyed it and I was really proud of her!
Here are a few pictures of my little seamstress in action:
and as usual, Lambie kept P company as she stuffed that skinny little leg
Lambie and "Sophie" are becoming fast friends!
I should also mention that the pattern came with a cute little tote bag to make for the bunny as well. We decided to save that for tomorrow. We also added the pink trim on the skirt for some extra color. Oh and yes...she named the bunny Sophie...after our puppy!
