In one of my recent posts I mentioned that creating a piece of art would be a summer project for myself and Parker to work on together. Well, we bought the canvas last week and have been working on it here and there...we finished it this morning!
I re-did her closet and took the doors off of it a few months ago but we needed a piece of art to hang over top of the dresser. So it was the perfect spot for it...
It was a super easy project. First we painted the canvas a silvery grey. Then we cut a bunch of hearts out of patterened scrap book paper which we got at Target. Then we glued the hearts onto the canvas. And finally, we coated the whole canvas with modge-podge. I suppose you could skip that part, but it gives the artwork a nice glossy finish and will protect the paper and paint.
