I'm super excited to be participating in next week's Kids Clothes Week Challenge. And even more excited to be one of their sponsors this year. The point of the challenge is to sew at least one hour a day and make something for your kids. We all know that I sew about 6 hours a day! But it's rare these days that I'm making something for Parker. So next week I'll be taking a time out from City Kid sewing to make a few new items for Parker.
She is getting pickier and pickier about her outfits these day! It usually consists of some shortsleeved tee with a pair of leggings-lovely look I know. And it's a far cry from the hip little city kid look she used to sport. So this time around I actually sat her down and had her help me pick out a few patterns that she liked. She pinky swore to me that she's going to wear the stuff from these patterns!
So these are the patterns that I am planning:
The Slouchy Cardigan by Heidi and Finn:
Apple Loungewear top by SchwinDesigns:
The Banyan Tunic Length Tee by Figgy's Patterns:
And finally, the Heidi Dress by My Childhood Treasures:
They're all kind of similar and even sweatshirty looking but I really wanted something that she could throw on over leggings and a tee. Since she's so into leggings you'd think that I'd be sewing up some of those but I really have a hard time spending time and good fabric on leggings when I can pick them up for super cheap at target or old navy. If I have extra time I may try and snaz up some of those cheapo leggings with some trim at the bottom or something...we'll see!
Well, wish me luck in completing my list. And be sure to check out all of the uploaded projects on the KCW site next week...it'll be full of sewing goodness and inspiration!
